We went on an Autumn walk and collected some natural treasures. We used these natural and free resources to help with doubling. Little Miss is now confident to count up in 2’s which helped her find the answer quickly. ⠀

First we practically found the double, then we used our @yellow_door_education number stones to make the number sum to match the workings out. Lastly she wrote the number sum. ⠀

We set up this invitation for the children to explore the fallen apples in the mud kitchen. They have taken an interest in picking the wind blown apples up off of the floor and this weeks phonic is ‘a’ so what better way but to make an apple kitchen.

Another simple set up with so many learning opportunities - maths, phonics, gross motor skills to name a few.

Primrose had loads of fun with this mud kitchen set up. She enjoyed squeezing pipettes of warm water onto the frozen domes filled with leaf confetti, and watching them slowly melt. She loved the process of making ‘potions’ and used the various utensils to explore the different items.
