The Come Alive Superheroes book is crammed full of ideas about how children’s love of all things superpowered can be embraced through role-play, small world play and block play to name but a few areas. It’s full of creative ideas, as well as useful suggestions on behaviour management when embracing this sometimes controversial area. The pack features useful cut-outs to support children’s play, and a CD-ROM stuffed with even more resources. The whole pack can then be developed further still by using the wooden superhero play characters, which were hugely popular here, resulting in loads of storytelling and imaginative talk. I’m sure they will be played with again and again and again. A must for all early years settings who claim to put children’s own interests at the centre of their approach.
